From Instability to Belonging
Regina’s early childhood was marked by profound loss.
After losing both parents, she experienced instability and mistreatment. Safety was uncertain. Trust was fragile.
When she entered a Children of Grace programs, she arrived withdrawn and unsure whom she could rely on.
The Slow Work of Healing
Healing does not happen overnight.
Through consistent mentorship, counseling, and daily nurturing care, Regina slowly began to rebuild trust.
She experienced:
Stable housing
Emotional counseling
Guardian oversight
Relational consistency
Over time, something shifted. Her academic performance improved. Her emotional stability strengthened.
She began to smile more freely.
She even began referring to her foster guardian as “grandmother.”
Safe, Steady, Hopeful
Today, Regina is no longer defined by her past trauma.
She is safe.
She is steady.
She is hopeful.
And she belongs.
